I've already mentioned massage - not going to cure or stop perthes, but will help with relaxing the muscles and generally makes you feel a whole lot better! Another one along that line is Bowen Therapy (you can read about it at www.bowtech.com, or just google it for a lot of sites). This is as gentle as massage, but its where the muscles are encouraged to lie the way they are meant to. Reiki, energy, crystal and any other form of hands-on healing, are great if that is what you believe will help. I personally have seen the benefits of a combined crystal/energy healing session on my daughter when she had her fixator on and valium had been prescribed for the muscle spasms she was having. After this session, she went 6 weeks without any valium! As I think of other treatments, or if you have any to add, please do so! This forum is all about sharing ideas and information, so that others can see other approaches to the problems they are facing.

I'd like to add a New Zealand link to the one about Bowen Therapy - www.bowennz.com - well worth investigating as a way to help with the mis-alignment that can happen with limping, using crutches, surgery and many others! Acupuncture is another treatment that might be worth pursuing too.
