Hi
Sorry to hear that. How old is he? When was the diagnosis? Has the specialist said anything about the % of involvement? What therapy and/or treatment has your son had or going to have? Where are you, as I may be able to put you in touch with another family near to support you?

hi Reegan is 7yrs old he was diagnosed in July 2008 we are under the Waikato Hospital. Reegan is really bad at the moment but the hospital don't want to see us until August Reegan does swimming once a week , he was a very sporty boy so rugby is out but the doctor says he can still ride his motorbike.

Hi
Sorry only just saw your reply to my message. We have been really busy for the last 4 weeks as Spyke had a combined pelvic and femoral osteotomy and is currently in broom stck plasters.
Its so difficult when they have to give up all their sporty hobbies . i hope reegan is coping okwith it. Our consultant said no moto x . At first it felt like the end of the world as that was what we did every weekend. However at the moment i'd be glad if he never got on a bike again . I just never want him to hurt himself again after the torrid time we had in the first 2 weeks after the operation.
Spyke went swimming also a couple of times a week and he got quite good at it and really enjoyed it . I am looking forward to the plasters coming off for him to begin swimming again .
Take care and I hope Reegans next appointment sheds some light for you .

Glad to hear the appointment went well. Fingers & toes crossed that its only a case now of keeping him out of impact activities for a bit longer and its all over and done with
